Bigs United Black History Month Signature Event

Join Bigs United African-American affinity group as we bring together a panel of thought leaders and activists to discuss how multiple institutions, industries and influencers factor into a child’s success in life. Our focus will be on what level of involvement the Black community has in the raising of our youth and how that plays into their development. We will examine if it still “takes a village to raise a child”. Our goal is to establish collaborative and actionable ways the community, with the child at the center, can begin to impact change and empower the next generation. A reception will precede with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres provided. Let’s get together and start something.

Keynote Address: Kevin Powell, BKNation

Panelists: Danny Madden (Moderator), Founder of Bigs United April Silver, Akila Worksongs Mychal Denzel Smith, Writer & Fellow at The Nation Tara Childs, National Co-Chair of The Young & Powerful Group A.J. Calloway, Television Personality from BET, Extra.
